Weekend Vibes: Pregaming for the Groundhog (Oh and the Super Bowl)

If you’re a groundhog person, this is a big weekend for you. There’s also the most important football game in the world taking place, and we’ll absolutely be tuning in for the commercials. If neither of these remotely interest you because you should have made plans weeks ago, check out some of the weirder happenings we’ve found this week.

FrostFest, Bryant Park, Friday and Saturday

You can fight the cold by staying indoors or just embrace it and double down. We’re suggesting a good mix of each, and FrostFest is a great place to feel like a kid again (unless you are already a kid in which case just be yoruself). Take advantage of driving a bumper car on ice and drinking hot cocoa, but not at the same time. The event is free but expect like really long lines, so plan accordingly.

Nerd Nite NYC, Littlefield, 635 Sackett Street, Brooklyn, Saturday

Love trivia? What about high energy presentations discussing the history of vaccines, the importance of the $2 bill, and a primer on the American militia? Then consider flexing your brain muscles with fellow smarty pants at this event. Knowledge isn’t cheap, but these tickets are actually pretty affordable, and you can reserve them here.

Speakeasy Magic, McKittrick Hotel, Saturday and Sunday (But Not This Weekend Okay)

Okay fair warning, this show is selling out quickly, so we’re giving you advanced notice to purchase tickets this weekend to see this magical show for ANOTHER weekend. It’s basically non stop sleight of hand tricks in a sexy setting, and it makes a great Valentine’s Day gift. Take a look at the calendar and don’t sleep on it (there’s irony here because this hotel is where people go to see Sleep No More)
