NYC’s top restaurants rely on farmers markets, and the relationship they have with the farmers, to provide diners with the unforgettable dining experience they’ve come to expect.

Join us for a special Q&A and demo, as Chef Michael Ferraro, Executive Chef and Partner at Delicatessen, and founder of Macbar, teaches us the ins and outs of identifying, sourcing, and cooking in-season ingredients from your local farmer’s market.

Afterwards, we’ll enjoy a family-style meal of the prepared bounty at Delicatessen’s courtyard- the perfect opportunity to experience what locally sourced produce should taste like. Enjoy a complimentary glass of wine outdoors, while mingling with other guests and interacting further with Chef Michael. Additional drinks will be available for purchase at their upstairs bar.

  • A demo of 4 different dishes utilizing sourced, in-season ingredients

  • Learn to identify the various produce you’ll come across at a farmers market

  • Learn to identify and what to look for when sourcing in-season produce

  • Learn when to buy certain produce, where to source it, and the best methods for preparing it

  • A tapas-style family meal with a complimentary glass of wine

About Michael

Chef Michael Ferraro is the Executive Chef and Partner at Delicatessen, and founder of Macbar, a restaurant fully dedicated to gourmet macaroni & cheese.

Michael Ferraro’s culinary career began early on, inspired by his Southern Italian parents and their love and respect for quality and tradition. After graduating from the Culinary Institute of America at age 20, Ferraro sought opportunities to further develop his own creativity.

He’s served at such establishments as Beacon Restaurant under Chef Waldy Malouf, Jean-Georges, Four Seasons Hotel, Fifty Seven Fifty Seven, the Biltmore Room under Chef Gary Robbins, Cafe Centro, and Tribeca's, Fresh.

A member of Zagat’s inaugural class of “30 Under 30” in 2011, Ferraro has also achieved numerous wins in New York City Wine and Food Festival.

He’s also a recurring Chef Expert alongside Jon Taffer on Spike TV’s hit series Bar Rescue, a judge on Food Network’s Beat Bobby Flay, and has also been featured on CBS, ABC, NBC, VH1, WPIX, Travel Channel, Iron Chef America, the Cooking Channel and Chopped on Food Network.
